Writings few and far between, I know things are still going in the forward direction. We were informed a few weeks ago that Chuck Huckleberry has agreed to a meeting with those of us involved in the Attendant Care Task Force. On Wednesday, January 14th, we will be able to present our concerns, hopes, and plans to Mr. Huckleberry. I am terrified, and excited. I've had to reread my letter from last year for a little refresher and a bit of a reinstillation of my indignation in the face of so much apathy.
I've been very lucky. My caregiver situation has worked out in my favor, so far. I have good, devoted people providing my care. I know that not everyone affected by the changes inflicted by the closure of the Pima Attendant Care system have been so well treated. And so many people who don't have the ability to communicate their needs and fears. That is, I suppose, a huge part of what we will be doing on Wednesday.
